Follow this step-by-step guide to apply for an Egypt visa on arrival through Egypt Okay-To-Board or clearance. Additionally, you will learn how to obtain your visa sticker in Nigeria.
If you own a Nigerian passport, you will need to either apply for an Egypt visa at the embassy in Abuja or get a what we call Okay to Board so that you can get the visa on arrival (VOA).

To obtain a visa on arrival in Egypt, you must first secure an Egyptian security clearance called the “Okay-To-Board” if you do not have a valid visa from the United States, the United Kingdom, or the Schengen Area.
If you hold a valid visa from one of the countries mentioned above and have used it to travel to the country that issued the visa, you can enter Egypt without needing an Egypt-Okay-To-Board. Upon your arrival in Egypt, you will receive a visa and need to pay a $25 fee at the port of entry.
Documents Required for the Egypt Okay-To-Board
Typically, an Egypt Okay-To-Board is issued by Egyptian immigration within 2 to 7 business days, provided there are no security concerns, no overstays, or criminal records.
The Egypt Okay-To-Board is not issued as a sticker visa. Instead, it consists of a brief list that includes your name, flight number, and route, and, in some cases, details of other passengers.
What is the Next Step After Egypt’s Approval to Board?
Arrive on your scheduled travel date as indicated by your security clearance, known as the okay-to-board. Head to the check-in counter with your documents, including your international passport, flight ticket, and security clearance confirmation, to complete your check-in process.
When arriving in Egypt, head to the immigration counter for check-in. Present your passport and your sticker visa, which you can purchase at the airport. Immigration officers do not sell the sticker visa themselves; instead, they will direct you to where to obtain it.
