The requirements for your application vary based on the type of visa you intend to pursue.

Supporting documents for Jamaica visa applications

When applying for an entry visa, the following documents are required:

A completed Visa Application Form, duly signed by the applicant.
One passport-sized photograph.
A valid passport – a copy of the bio-data page must be provided initially. The passport should remain valid for the entire duration of the intended stay in Jamaica.
A flight itinerary and proof of sufficient funds to cover the duration of the visit.
The visa fee is set at USD 20.00.
If you have previously travelled to Jamaica, include a copy of your current or previous passport, specifically the pages showing the Jamaican visas and relevant immigration entry stamps.
A copy of the transit visa, if applicable.
A letter of invitation from a person or organisation in Jamaica (if applicable) or confirmation of accommodation reservation.
Proof of Financial Status (i.e. current bank statements). This must consist of a six-month bank statement.
If you are being sponsored, include a bank statement from the individual or organisation (along with a letter authorising you to utilise their support).
Provide an introductory or leave letter from your employer or school, or an identification card where necessary.
If self-employed, submit evidence of your business, i.e. registration documents and bank statements. Indicate if the applicant is unemployed or retired.
If sponsored by an individual in Jamaica, provide evidence of their immigration status (e.g. a copy of their passport) and proof of financial status.
Regarding a business visit, please submit recent evidence of correspondence with the organisation in Jamaica along with a letter of invitation.
For a student visa, please provide an acceptance letter, proof of payment of school fees, and a return ticket.
Minors must present a birth certificate and a letter of consent from their parents if they travel with a guardian. If travelling with a spouse, a marriage certificate is required.
Proof of address (rental receipt, utility bill).
The bearer collecting the passport or any other documents for the applicant(s) must present a “Letter of Authorisation” to act on behalf of the applicant (signed by the applicant, including the bearer’s name and identification number). A copy of the identification stated in the letter must be attached.

It is important to note that Nigerian nationals are not required to submit their passports; instead, only a copy of the bio-data page should be provided. Your passport will be requested when the application is approved. Applicants outside of Nigeria must include their passports and the application form to avoid incurring the cost of multiple submissions.

Mode of submission of Documents

Completed visa application form, along with original supporting documents, should be submitted using one (1) of the following options:

Applicant: You can visit the embassy to submit your documents in person, which is advisable.
Authorisation Letter: Bearer with a letter of authorization signed by the applicant may be accepted by the Jamaica consulate.
Mailing: You could send your document to the embassy via any courier Service, which is acceptable through this channel.

As the High Commission must refer applications to the Immigration authorities in Jamaica for prior approval, please submit your completed application at least three (3) weeks before your intended travel date to ensure sufficient processing time.
